Helping Hands Dedication
Helping Hands for Newtown
On December 16th we sent out a request. We asked teachers and students to show their support to Sandy Hook students, faculty and families by creating a hand print with their name, city, state and school. Our goal was to take these hands and hang them throughout the halls of Sandy Hook School.
Over the course of the last two weeks we have received thousands of hands from over 500 schools and families from all over Connecticut, all over the country and all over the world. It became very clear to us that people wanted to find some way to help, some way to show their love, some way to help us all heal.
For all of us involved in this project it has been healing and we’ve been inspired by the outpouring of support. However, the real reason for the project was never far from our hearts.
While we created this project for the Sandy Hook School Community, we dedicate this project to the innocent victims and families of the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy.
You are forever in our hearts.
Sandy Hook School Students, Faculty, Staff and Families…
We hope that as you enter your new school facility you know three things:
You are loved. You are safe. You are not alone.
